Well, it is known President Erdogan’s unorthodox policy has caused inflation to go higher, buying power of people has been reduced, yet the support for him stayed the same, so it is believed in his new term our president will at least let professionals deal with the #Turkish Economy.
The above graph shows the movement of the US Dollar against Turkish Lira in the last 80 days. 29th of May was when the election was won by Erdogan, and Monday the 5th of June was when the cabinet of ministers took over their offices from their predecessors.
A key speech by Minister Simsek indicated the shift to an orthodox method and as experts call it “Dollar has been released.”.
Where do you stand under the circumstances?
- Turkish property owners, developers and estate agents are now quite experienced in adjusting prices to the increase in foreign currency value increase, so acting fast is recommended where prices are still reasonable in Turkish Lira, and you will have an advantage re paying less in your own currency.
- Invest in off plan options where there is a payment plan in place, if the contract states the instalments will be in Turkish Liras.
